This whimsical two piece A5 giraffe artwork Animal Portrait set, titled ‘Gerald Art Print Set’, has been hand illustrated using fine liner pens, digitally coloured, and printed in Melbourne by The Nonsense Maker. The highly detailed set of illustrations work together to create one full image, spread across two different art prints. Gerald’s shoulders are pictured in the lower frame, while his long giraffe neck stretches up from one drawing into the next, with his head appearing in the upper frame. Inspired by a dreamlike world where little is what it seems, this giraffe artwork has a warm vintage colour palette, with warm maroon and green backgrounds, and blue, red, white, yellow and cream features.

The Nonsense Maker’s ‘Gerald Art Print Set’ giraffe artworks are hand made in Melbourne using all Australian suppliers. Beginning with a pencil sketch before moving to pen, a method called crosshatching is used to create the depth and the tone you see in the final design. This fine line art is then scanned into a computer and coloured digitally. All our art prints are printed on the highest quality paper with fade-resistant pigment ink, giving them the same life span as a painting.

The Nonsense Maker’s Australian art prints are imagined from a fun and whimsical world where dreaming meets reality. Sometimes silly and sometimes sad, inspired by etching techniques used by old time illustrators. While the handmade greeting cards have much less detail, our animal art prints can take up to 60 hours to create.
