The highly detailed drawing portrays a rollercoaster looping into the shape of a nine against a blue cloudy sky. Tiny people ride the rollercoaster in nine colourful carts. Inspired by a dreamlike world where little is what it seems, this number nine birthday card has a bright colour palette, using sky blue, brown, and touches of vibrant green, red, yellow and blue.

Beginning with a pencil sketch before moving to pen, a method called crosshatching is used to create the depth and the tone you see in the final design.
