Mum Wine - Mother's Day Card

This cheeky ‘Mum Wine’ all occasion, Australian Mother’s Day card has been hand illustrated using fine liner pens, digitally coloured, and printed in Melbourne by The Nonsense Maker. The highly detailed drawing portrays a line up of different types of wine, each a different colour and in a unique shaped bottle. The hand lettering below the wine bottles says “Gift ideas for mum”. Inspired by a dreamlike world where little is what it seems, this Mother's Day card has a whimsical colour palette, using shades of red, pink, purple, yellow, blue and green.

Beginning with a pencil sketch before moving to pen, a method called crosshatching is used to create the depth and the tone you see in the final design.
