After digitally colouring the illustration, the Mother's Day cards are printed in house by The Nonsense Maker. This illustration portrays a line of baby ducklings wearing backpacks and hats, following after their mother duck. Below the ducks hand lettered type in a vintage style banner reads "Happy Mother's Day". This greeting card has a simple colour palette against a pale blue backdrop.

Beginning with a pencil sketch before moving to pen, a method called crosshatching is used to create the depth and the tone you see in the final design.
