The highly detailed drawing portrays a mint green scoop of ice cream in a waffle cone leaning to one side, being propped up by several ladders, which have been tied together. A tiny girl sits on the top of the ice cream waiting to be joined by her two tiny adventuring friends. Inspired by a dreamlike world where little is what it seems, this greeting card has a pastel colour palette, using light blues and green, brown, and hints of pink, green and red.

Beginning with a pencil sketch before moving to pen, a method called crosshatching is used to create the depth and the tone you see in the final design.
