The highly detailed drawing portrays a little blue cottage, with a bright red door and a matt that says “Welcome”. From the chimney explodes a wild bouquet of foliage, red and yellow flowers. Inspired by a dreamlike world where little is what it seems, this housewarming card has a bright colour palette, using vibrant blues, red, green, and yellow.

Beginning with a pencil sketch before moving to pen, a method called crosshatching is used to create the depth and the tone you see in the final design.
