This cheerful ‘Baking for Christmas’ Australian made Christmas greeting card has been hand illustrated using fine liner pens, digitally coloured, and printed in Melbourne by The Nonsense Maker. The highly detailed drawing portrays a bright red stand mixer used in Christmas baking. The mixer is surrounded by tiny people dressed as Christmas elves, who appear to be baking Christmas themed gingerbread cookies and candy-canes. The illustration has a festive red and green colour palette.

The Nonsense Maker’s ‘Baking for Christmas’ Australian Christmas cards are hand made in Melbourne using all Australian suppliers.

Beginning with a pencil sketch before moving to pen, a method called crosshatching is used to create the depth and the tone you see in the final design. This fine line art is then scanned into a computer and coloured digitally. All our artist designed Christmas cards are ethically printed on high quality FSC certified recycled paper, and our envelopes are 100% recycled.

We often have customers let us know they love our Christmas cards but struggle to think of things to write in them, and they are certainly not alone there! Check out our blog page for our top tips on what to write in a Christmas card.

The Nonsense Maker’s unique Christmas card designs are imagined from a fun and whimsical world where dreaming meets reality. Sometimes silly and sometimes sad, inspired by etching techniques used by old time illustrators. While The Nonsense Maker’s art prints often have finer details, the Christmas cards and quirky stationery are usually an easy cheerful expression designed to bring a smile to your face.
