This whimsical wall art print titled ‘My Australian Kitchen’ from the Kitchen Comforts set has been hand illustrated using fine liner pens, digitally coloured, and printed in Melbourne by The Nonsense Maker. Available in A4 and A3 size, the highly detailed drawing portrays a collection of nostalgic kitchen items and Australian foods. The most prominent item is the large fruit topped pavlova in the centre of the artwork, a treat much loved by Australians, especially at Christmas time! Also featured is a teacup and tea tin, some utensils used in baking, and some native Australian botanicals. Inspired by a dreamlike world where little is what it seems, this art print has a quirky colour palette, using rich reds, greens, and pops of vibrant light blue.

The Nonsense Maker’s ‘My Australian Kitchen’ art print is hand made in Melbourne using all Australian suppliers. Beginning with a pencil sketch before moving to pen, a method called crosshatching is used to create the depth and the tone you see in the final design. This fine line art is then scanned into a computer and coloured digitally. All our art prints are printed on the highest quality paper with fade-resistant pigment ink, giving them the same life span as a painting.

Wall art prints are an expression of yourself and are the perfect way to make a space uniquely your own. Framed art is about finding the right balance of size, colour and composition, and it can be tricky. The Nonsense Maker’s Australian art prints are imagined from a fun and whimsical world where dreaming meets reality. Sometimes silly and sometimes sad, inspired by etching techniques used by old time illustrators. While the handmade greeting cards have much less detail, wall art prints can take up to 60 hours to create. Each of The Nonsense Maker’s wall art prints come packaged with a vintage book inspired backing board, and a short story of the inspiration behind the piece.
